New Fruit and Veg Rack
A big thank you to RB Engineering for fabricating and fitting our new bespoke outside fresh produce cover.
I think you will agree that it looks very smart indeed!
Cafe Spruce Up!
Summer is officially here and so Katherine and the Shop Committee gave the outside cafe area a much needed spruce up and decoration. I hope you will agree that it looks fantastic now and the perfect spot to enjoy a nice cup of tea or a refreshing ice lolly.
Goodbye Sarah and Thank you!
Sarah and her mum, Dilys, have been staunch supporters of the shop since it first opened. Not only have they been regular customers, but they have also worked as volunteers every Monday until Covid regulations forced them to self isolate. Sadly Dilys passed away recently and Sarah will be leaving the Parish at the end of the month and moving to Newton Abbot. We couldn’t let Sarah go without saying goodbye and thankyou to her. Katherine arranged a small leaving party at the shop with cake, gifts, cards and some of our regular volunteers. Sarah will be missed but we are sure she will pop back to the shop now and again to say hello.
Happy Easter!
Our wonderful Post Box Elves have been at it again. How lucky we are that they visit the Post Box outside our Village Shop – they bring a smile to everyone! Remember to buy your Easter eggs and Easter treats from our wonderful selection and we hope you all have a happy and healthy Easter time.
Late Night Shopping
Every Tuesday night in December, the shop is staying open until 8pm. Please come along and enjoy some mulled wine and a mince pie whilst perusing our wonderful Christmas gifts and goodies. Oh and watch out for this elf on the shelf……..
Christmas has arrived!
Thank you to Phil Limb for the wonderful Christmas tree outside our shop.
And thank you to Woodhouse Preschool for the lovely decorations.
2020 Shop Donations To The Community
We are so pleased to announce that the winning beneficiaries of the 2020 Ilsington Village Shop Grants are Twiglets Preschool, Ilsington Cricket Club and Haytor Hearts Netball Club. Each group received £200.
Katherine and Kirsten had the wonderful job of giving out the funds to these local community groups.
Goodbye to Rob and Anne
Rob and Anne Parkinson have been a huge part of the community for many years. Not only have they volunteered regularly at the Village Shop but Anne was also our Assistant Manager! We are both excited and sad to say goodbye to them as they make their way to Scotland to begin another exciting chapter in their lives.
They will be greatly missed and we are sure you will join us in wishing them good health and good luck.
Shiny New Manager!
The Village Shop Committee is delighted to announce that we have a new Shop Manager! We were so lucky to have such a large and strong pool of applicants to choose from, all of whom were lovely people who thought highly of the shop and wanted to join our team.
However, one person stood out above the rest because of her passion and her spark and we would like to introduce Katherine Bainbridge as the new Shop Manager beginning on the 3 Feb 2020. Helen is a hard act to follow but we hope the community will welcome Katherine with open arms and give her lots of support.
Goodbye Helen
We are very sad to announce that Helen Tate will be leaving us at the end of January.
Helen has been a wonderful manager for the last three and a half years and is a firm fixture in the community. She will be greatly missed and I hope you will all join us in wishing her all the best for the future.
Of course we could not let her slip away quietly and so we filled the shop with friends and volunteers on Helen’s last shift to give her gifts and cards (and lots of hugs!)
