It is with regret that this year there will be no community grants from the Village Shop.

The shop unfortunately made a loss of £11,000 over the last year. This was due to increased administration expenses (based on a full year effect of increased staff hours and rates of pay), the continued trend following the relaxation of the Covid lockdowns that has seen a return to normal shopping habits, as well as the refurbishment costs for the shop.

However, the shop does still benefit the community by acting as a hub for the sale of Village Event tickets, by hosting products for sale from local crafts people and acting as a point of sale for the Primary School cards.

The sales for the most recent months of the new year are showing improvement and we are optimistic that next year we will hopefully be able to give out our much needed Community Grants again.
