Dartmoor Beef In Red Wine (Serves 2, but just multiply quantities for more portions!)
Dartmoor Farmers is a Farmers Initiative inspired by HRH Prince Of Wales. They supply award winning, free range, slow grown, beautifully tasting West Country beef and lamb from Dartmoor Farmers. Grazing Dartmoor National Park, our pure and cross breed native cattle and sheep are reared on local family farms.
Ingredients
500g Diced Dartmoor Farmer beef, shin, chuck or skirt
1/4 Bottle red wine
10 Normal sized mushrooms
5 Slices of bacon
250ml Beef stock
1 tbsp of flour (any type)
2 tbsp oil
Method
Cut the beef in cubes if not already diced.
Put the oil in a frying pan or a casserole dish that can go on the hob.
Fry the beef until brown.
Stir in the flour.
Stir in the red wine and the stock.
Leave on the hob on a low heat for 2.5 hours, or in the oven (160'c) or a slow cooker.
At 1 hour to go, add the sliced mushrooms and bacon and leave to cook. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
Serve with pasta, rice or jacket potatoes.
